Tummy time: necessary for babies to practice all the stuff they will want to do on their tummies, like roll over, lift their heads, grab things, and especially crawl. Back when babies were put to sleep on their stomachs, they naturally got a lot of practice. Now that babies go to sleep on their backs (for reducing SIDS), they need scheduled tummy time.

What a cutie! Looks like tummy time is less dreadful now that he can roll . . .
I know why: It's your very own version of "Where's Waldo?" -- heh
Okay, once again for the child-free among us: what's the theory/idea behind tummy time?
